Do you know what they call a quarter pounder with cheese in Paris? Me neither, but I know what they call it at Cased in Time, and that’s a Royale with Cheese. That’s right, our favourite food-obsessed case makers are back with another tongue-in-cheek take on a popular fast food to bring us another high-calorie storage option for our watches.

The last time we saw these cheeky case makers was when we were handing out donuts at British Watchmakers’ Day earlier this year. These glazed confections accompanied three different colours of donut cases that you could find on our stall, and were wrapped in extremely believable Krispy Kreme-like packaging. Our collaborative Cased in Time x Time+Tide D’ohnut Cases have proven to be a massive hit – since BWD, we’ve been selling them in our Discovery Studios and fans love ’em.

Now we have Cased in Time’s new concept, Two Guys, a digital fast food outlet that serves, in their words, “the tastiest watch case known to mankind!” Of course, this means a burger bun-looking outer hard shell, complete with sesame seeds, and a brown zipper to represent that juicy patty. But the meal doesn’t end there. Open the case up, and the usual foam cushion inserts that are there to protect your watch are now in green and red for lettuce and tomato – sorry for those who like their cheeseburger with no salad. And finally, we have a yellow oversized polishing cloth for those all-important slices of American cheese.

But the Two Guys universe doesn’t just extend to the product; the packaging that these come with will make you think you’ve just stopped off to pick up lunch rather than a travel pouch for your latest timepiece. Not only are they individually wrapped in foil (for extra freshness), but the outside back is coloured like a brown paper bag with a strikingly familiar red typeface used for the Two Guys logo.

While these design features are lots of fun, these cases are more than just gimmicks. They are shock-proof, dust-proof, and water-resistant. The circular shape is pretty much ideal for carrying any size and type of watch, whether it’s on a bracelet, a rubber strap or a NATO, and thanks to the indent in the middle, the watch never moves around inside. To me, these are ideal travel cases as they take up hardly any room in your suitcase and give incredibly good protection to the watch inside. Now, the only question that remains is this: it would be blasphemy to use these as Pizza Watch storage?

The new Royal with Cheese cases from Cased in Time are now available in both our London and Melbourne Studios and the Time+Tide Shop online. Price: £30, A$54
